Welcome to the Neustift/Novacella school boarding house!

Since the monastery school was founded 850 years ago the Augustinian Canons Regular of Novacella/Neustift have made the education of young people one their major vocations. The school boarding house has existed in its present form since 1971, accommodating lower secondary school pupils (age approx. 11 to 14) who attend the internal state school, and for senior pupils who attend school in Brixen.

We set great store by the following educational objectives:

• Christian education focusing on the message of Jesus and imparting religious and social values.
• Helping young people towards self-discovery and to encourage pupils to organise their leisure time in a meaningful and creative manner.

We wish pupils to feel happy in the boarding house and encourage them to talk about their own home lives. Pupils are supervised by a team of five house masters and a pastoral carer.
The boarding house owns a football pitch, an artificial grass playing field (for football, basketball and tennis), a trampoline area, a half-pipe structure and a swimming pool. There are also other amenities including a gym with an artificial climbing wall, and plenty of other rooms and facilities.



The school boarding house can accommodate up to 95 pupils.

Please note:
Since the school year 2004/2005 the secondary school has been operating a 5-day week for pupils!
