Vision
Situated in the heart of Europe at the point where southern and northern cultures merge, the Convention Centre Abbazia di Novacella is a distinguished and innovative place of learning and a meeting place of supra-regional importance.

Mission
For 860 years education has featured prominently in the duties of the Augustinian Canons Regular monastery. The Convention Centre has been carrying out this mission since 1970 and as a result contributes towards filling with life an essential part of the monastery’s structure which has evolved historically. By building on this long tradition we mould the present and future. We see education as a service to people. Our range of services is determined by continuity and keeping up with the latest developments. For this reason we pay special attention to the further education requirements of the current themes and trends of thought and offer orientation to support people in actively shaping their lives. Cooperation helps us to achieve this aim.

Values
Essential principles of humanity which form the basis of our work derive from the Christian values of humanism and "The Enlightenment". This is underpinned by a climate of openness and the responsible stewardship of our surroundings. The person as an individual and the conservation of creation take centre stage. We consider the current needs of our target and interest groups.

Core competencies
As part of the Abbazia di Novacella the Convention Centre is connected with the active community of the Augustinian Canons Regular. Consequently the dialogue between history and the present, the material and the spiritual, church and society are immediately tangible and palpable. Informal learning is facilitated and actively supported by the sense of security and seclusion provided by the place.
