Quality is the key to success for the Convention Centre Abbazia di Novacella! Since 2000 we have been operating on the basis of quality management in accordance with the model of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). This management system assists organisations to achieve success. By means of its 9 criteria it provides support to all interest groups, above all to customers in order to continuously increase their efficiency.

In 2010 we subjected our Convention Centre again to an external "Recognised for Excellence" audit and were awarded 4 stars again. We derive great satisfaction from this acknowledgement confirming the high standards we have reached and maintained in our Convention Centre and feel motivated to strive even further towards excellence and render even higher levels of service to our interest groups.


	Furthermore, the high level of quality has been acknowledged by the European Social Fund (ESF) which has accredited the Convention Centre since 2002. This enables us to offer ESF sponsored courses of studies and training and, as a result of this financial support, to offer participants extremely attractive conditions.

Since time immemorial sustainability has played an important role in the monastery and in monastery life in its ecological, economic and cultural dimension. Alongside its regional anchorage and the consistent management of its estates the monastery also has its own hydroelectric power supply and a wood chip heating system.

Likewise the Convention Centre Abbazia di Novacella holds the theme of sustainability dear. This is demonstrated on the one hand in our educational activities which focus on the person and continuously take up aspects of sustainability. On the other hand the Convention Centre has been distinguished with the “Tyrolean Environmental Seal” since 1997.

Efforts in this area have been intensified by the formation of the work group “Sustain-able Convention Centre”. It creates and reinforces the sustainable framework for our educational activities. Beginning with an initial internal workshop, to date various projects have been implemented or started such as a catalogue of criteria for office materials, an internal seminar on presenting the rooms and the integration of regional and fair-traded products. The medium-term aim of these efforts is the accreditation of the Convention Centre in accordance with a recognised environmental management system.
