Parish of Neustift today
The parish of Novacella is incorporated in the monastery, which means that it is served by the monastery’s Canons Regular and one priest. It belongs to the 16 parishes comprising the Deanery of Brixen.
Parish Masses are usually said in the collegiate church together with the Canons Regular. The May devotions, Masses for school pupils, penitential services and Masses for small groups are held in the Church of St. Margaret.
The Pontifical Masses and vespers on special occasions with the prelates and the monastery’s Canons Regular in attendance are especially solemn. These Masses often attract large numbers of guests from the area to the collegiate church. |
