Welcome to Neustift Abbey

A haven of faith and culture for almost 900 years. A font of strength from its conception.

In 1142 the Blessed Hartmann founded the Augustinian abbey of Neustift near his bishop’s seat in Brixen. Ever since, the abbey has steadily developed to become the religious, cultural and even commercial centre it is today.

Experience diversity

The responsibilities and priorities of Neustift Abbey

Augustinian canons are still living and working in Neustift Abbey, which continues to fulfil numerous religious, social, cultural and commercial responsibilities.

The abbey’s products

All our products are created from the abbey’s own raw materials

A great deal of handwork, knowledge and experience goes into the creation of the products made from the abbey’s own raw materials. With unique results!

What you want to ignite in others must first burn within yourself
