Research at the museum

Seeing an object in a museum is one thing, knowing what’s behind it is quite another. The Neustift Abbey museum is thus working intensively to widen its knowledge about the monastery’s almost nine hundred years of art and cultural history.

Neustift’s comprehensive collections have only been studied in part, so there still many areas awaiting research.

These are being targeted by the museum curator, in consultation with other researchers – in a constant search for new information about old objects.
